Deploying an event

Everything you need to know to get your first event onchain.

1. Head to https://blocklive.io/manage/ or follow your invite link to sign into your producer account (early access to Blocklive is invite only).

2. Sign up to create a producer account. We recommend using a Blocklive account, rather than managing programming with a self custodial wallet alone.

3. After signing up, click the 'Create event' button under the 'My events' tab, this will bring you to the in UI editor.

4. Fill out the relevant details and click Publish. The publish button will either debit your Team Points if you have a sufficient balance or call your self custodial wallet. If using a self custodial wallet, confirm the transaction and wait until you see a success screen.

Deploying an event Blocklive differs from Web2 event management platforms in 3 key ways:

• Chain selection: Events are smart contracts on the blockchain. We use Arbitrum Nova by default for speed and cost, but you can choose from any EVM chain.

• Onchain base currency: Events use an onchain currency as the base currency for every event (e.g. USDC or ETH). Fiat pricing is tied to the underlying and can be set in USD, EUR, AED, and GBP.

• Onchain deployment: Events require native gas such as ETH or MATIC on your selected chain to launch. Gas can be paid for by using Team Points or by paying directly with your self custodial wallet.
